Accomodation

There are many different options for accommodation. One can rent an apartment or house and have the advantage of privacy, or stay in one of the many good hotels or pousadas (a guesthouse type accommodation where the guests have more contact with other guests and always has a nice relaxed, informal atmosphere). Hotels are usually where families go, pousadas are usually filled with younger people, many of whom are kitesurfers, especially in high season (July to January). It is advisable to reserve accommodation before coming to Cumbuco, especially from July to January as Cumbuco still has a limited amount of accomodation. Apartments

There are different types of apartments available in Cumbuco. One of the best options is the beautiful Apartment Laranja Mecânica, perfectly located on the beach right in the center of Cumbuco. From its huge balcony you have a splendid view over the Atlantic Ocean. You can not be closer to the beach; most (beach) restaurants are in a 50 meter radius, which is a big advantage over most of the hotels and pousadas, that are mostly well out of the center. Price starts at 300 € per week (2 persons), which is about 800 Reais per week, so its less than 115 reais per day.

Price starts at 80 Reais per day.   Pousadas Pousadas are a little less luxurious than hotels, they have a lot less staff for one, but still have an excellent service. You get new sheets and towels every day and they also clean your room every day. A pousada always offers free breakfast (cafe da manha) and there is always a swimming pool (except Tendas). Ideal for kite surfers and people that want to stay in the center near the bars and restaurants. English spoken. Good restaurant. Prices start at 70 R$ per night.

If you are with a group of 6 or more people it is a logical choice to rent a house instead of staying in a pousada or hotel. You have a lot more privacy, larger and more luxurious rooms, your own swimming pool and barbecua area. All houses have caretakers that are always looking after the houses, also at night. There is also the possibilty to stay in a pousada in Icarai.Icarai, which is a lot closer to Fortaleza than Cumbuco, it is only 20 kilometers to the Beira Mar in Fortaleza. We work with one pousadas here: Pousada do Sol which is situated right in the center. Prices are lower than in Cumbuco.
